The Grand Seiko’s diver’s watch has stood the test of time, in every sense. It is the essential diver’s watch, offering everything the recreational diver needs with no compromise or distracting ornamentation. Highly visible, with strength in every element and, whether powered by an automatic or Spring Drive movement of high precision, this is the diver’s watch for the purist.
Visibility enhanced in every detail
High visibility starts with smart design. The 12 o’clock index is a triangle. The six and nine indexes are rectangles and the others are circles so that, from any angle and at any depth, the time can be read correctly. The hands, too, are clearly differentiated in shape and the generously applied Lumibrite on the hands, indexes and bezel enhances legibility in the deep.
Three-dimensional indexes
The three-dimensional, faceted indexes are attached to the dial one by one, from behind, using a caulking technique. As a result, they stand out proudly and clearly from the dial, as easy to read as they are beautiful to see through the sapphire crystal whose surface has an anti-reflective coating.
Safety first
The diver’s safety is what matters most and the rotating bezel is built for security. Of course, its rotation is uni-directional but it offers additional security and precision in that each click is for 120 seconds and not 60. It has deep grooves so that it can be turned accurately, even with dive gloves on.
