2020 -

The 9SA and 9RA movements, which represent the next generation of the brand, along with the first mechanical complication were introduced, pioneering a new frontier.

9RA5

The Caliber 9RA5 is thinner, stronger, and more durable than previous Spring Drive movements. Its Dual-size Barrels led to a 5-day power reserve and a high level of accuracy of ±10 seconds per month.

9SA5

The Caliber 9SA5, with a high-beat frequency of 36,000 vibrations per hour, features a long power reserve of approximately 80 hours thanks to the Dual Impulse Escapement and twin barrels. The movement also uses a larger balance wheel for improved accuracy.

T0 Constant Force Tourbillon

The T0 Constant Force Tourbillon concept movement was born from free thinking, unbound by conventional ideas. Developed to achieve higher accuracy for mechanical timepieces, the patented movement was the first in the world to feature a constant-force mechanism integrated with a tourbillon on the same axis.

2021

Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève Men's Watch Prize

The SLGH005, powered by the Mechanical Hi-Beat 36000 80 Hour Caliber 9SA5, received the Men's Watch Prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

9RA2

The Caliber 9RA2 was released featuring a power reserve indicator on its case back side, while the 9RA5 had one on the dial. The movement featured a 5-day power reserve and a high level of accuracy of ±10 seconds per month.

2022

9ST1

The brand's first mechanical complication, Caliber 9ST1, was developed based on the T0 concept, following a comprehensive re-examination of each one of the over 340 parts. SLGT003 won the Chronometry Prize at the 2022 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.

2023

9SC5

Grand Seiko’s first 10-beat mechanical chronograph movement, the TENTAGRAPH, was released. It delivered a 72-hour power reserve (approximately 3 days) when fully wound.

2024

9SA4

Caliber 9SA4 was introduced as a thin, manual-winding movement with a delicate and elegant design befitting a Grand Seiko dress watch. Delivering a pleasant winding feel and sound, it was the first 10-beat, manual-wining movement from Grand Seiko in more than 50 years.
