Color, contrast and the drama of light
There is no mistaking the GMT hand. Its shape differentiates it from the other three hands, its vivid color makes it stand out clearly from the dark dial and it extends right to the edge of the dial so that the 24-hour time can be read with precision. The hour and minute hands are cut to a razor-sharp edge, as are the indexes, to ensure that they reflect even the faintest ray of light and sparkle with clarity. Because legibility is a central characteristic of Grand Seiko, color, contrast and light are all used to ensure the highest possible levels of readability, whatever the ambient light conditions.
