Singapore, February 22, 2024 - Grand Seiko proudly presents SBGW315, a boutique exclusive limited edition timepiece, inspired by the stunning beauty of the blue skies surrounding snow-capped Mount Iwate in Iwate Prefecture, where all Grand Seiko mechanical watches are created. This exquisite watch launches today in commemoration of the first anniversary of Grand Seiko Asia-Pacific’s boutique at Marina Bay Sands.
As a reflection of Grand Seiko’s reverence for the beauty of nature, the design of the watch echoes the magnificent natural beauty of winter in Iwate Prefecture. During this season, the low temperatures and clear air combine to create a backdrop of unparalleled beauty, where a vivid blue sky surrounds snow-capped Mount Iwate after a day of heavy snowfall. The watch dial is skilfully crafted to capture this essence and is a testament to the harmony between nature’s elements and the meticulous craftsmanship that defines the brand’s timepieces.
The limited edition timepiece comes with an additional foil-stamped leather strap produced by KYOTO Leather®, a ‘Cool Japan project’ that uses traditional Japanese craft techniques to create uniquely beautiful natural leather goods through a collaboration between Kyoto Yuzen or Nishijin textile artisans and tanners from Himeji, a leather producing area. To match the stylish design of the case, it has a unique texture with hand-processed foils of various materials applied to the surface.
Beyond its aesthetic charm, the SBGW315 embodies Grand Seiko’s unwavering commitment to precision and innovation, in line with the brand’s philosophy, “The Nature of Time”. This watch is driven by the slim, hand-wound movement, Caliber 9S64, and has a power reserve of 72 hours. The Brilliant Hard Titanium case features the distinct Zaratsu polishing and boasts a dual-curved sapphire crystal, enhancing legibility with a see-through case back.
The SBGW315 is exclusively available at the Grand Seiko Boutique at Marina Bay Sands and is limited to 88 pieces.
